The offset printing is one of the most common technique, used for printing a wide array of products such as business cards, flyers, magazines, etc. Specifically, the term “offset printing” refers to the process in which the image is being transferred (*offset) from the metal plates to a rubber blanket and then to the printing surfaces (instead of being directly transferred from a lithographic plate to a paper sheet).
It should be noted that the application of this technique requires pre-production preparations. The setup for offset printing involves the production of metal plates (one per color, usually black, yellow, cyan and magenta – CMYK), that need to be etched and applied to a printer roller. Since each color is applied separately, the accuracy of selected colors is easily achieved. In addition, offset printing allows the application of special finishing or varnish at the end of the process.
